Marney Gellner Breast Cancer
Gellner is succeeding both professionally and in terms of her health. Everything started on February 20 when she went for her annual mammogram (an X-ray of the breast) without knowing the tragic news that was awaiting her.
That morning, she took a picture that she intended to share on social media to raise awareness of breast health, but she changed her mind owing to the bad lighting.
After a few weeks, Marney received the most devastating news that no patient wants to hear; “You are diagnosed with breast cancer”.
She informed her audience about the diagnosis by sharing the news on her Twitter account after making her regular appearance on KFXN-100.3’s Power Trip Morning Show. Marney was relieved that the cancer was discovered early since things would have turned out very differently for her.
She took advantage of her situation to embark on advocating for universal breast health. She mentioned that even though there is no history of breast cancer in her family, she nevertheless had the disease.
The good news arrived on May 8, 2023, when she announced that she was cancer-free after going for surgery. She underwent a single mastectomy earlier and is no longer receiving medical treatment because she is cancer-free.
The host of Bally Sports North persisted in urging women to have routine mammograms, especially those over 40, adding, “Let’s forever give a hoot about our hoots!”
