Blayne’s Career From Desk Assistant to NBC Correspondent
Blayne’s first job (on payroll)Â was as a desk assistant at NBC News. She landed this job in August 2008 after graduating from Duke University. This exposure is what gave her the experience and skills that she need in her career.
Blayne was chosen to assist in the production of a number of unique projects during the 2008 election cycle, such as a question and answer session with Ann Curry after the debate, election night results from Charlotte, North Carolina, and, most significantly, coverage of President Barack Obama’s inauguration from the US Capitol.
The next year, Blayne began working as a photojournalist and reporter for WRDW-TV News 12. This marked the official start of her profession, as she was placed in underemployment. Blayne was a multimedia journalist who also functioned as her own editor and photographer.
Blayne began working as an anchor and reporter for WXIA-TV (11Alive News) in March 2011. She worked for Atlanta’s NBC affiliate, 11Alive News, for six years as an anchor and reporter. She not only reported during the week but also hosted 11Alive Weekend Today on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Blayne travels throughout Atlanta to cover significant news for WXIA and TEGNA stations around the country. She began working for NBCUniversal Media, LLC as an NBC News Channel correspondent in February 2017.
Blayne currently works for NBC News as an Atlanta-based correspondent, covering stories for MSNBC, NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Today Show, and all other NBC News platforms.
