Tran was informed by her doctors that she had stage three negative breast cancer in 2008. This terrible news came almost a year after the birth of their daughters. Her first thought was of her children.
She was anxious about what might occur to them if she didn’t make it, but the news had a profound impact on their lives.
As disturbing as it seems to be for cancer patients, people frequently underestimate how such news affects family members and friends who serve as caregivers.
Thanks to her husband who made all the necessary efforts for her. In the months that followed, Tran underwent one mastectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy, and radiation treatment and the good news came two years later.
In October 2010, her doctors broke the good news that she was cancer free. Ken celebrated the recovery of his wife at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, where he received the Best WTF Moment Award for The Hangover.
Since then Ken has been actively supporting organizations that support people with cancer owing to the experience of his wife.
He supports the Stand Up to Cancer campaign and frequently writes on social media about helping people with cancer, like his wife.
