Rupert Murdoch is an American business magnate/mogul and investor of Australian descent. When we use the term “business mogul,” we refer to Rupert as a tycoon and a powerful businessman who has amassed big assets and fortune by establishing or controlling multiple lines of business enterprise.
According to the latest statistics, Rupert who has invested heavily in the media industry is currently the 34th richest person in the US and the 96th richest person in the world.

His holding company News Corporation bought Twentieth Century Fox in 1985, HarperCollins four years later, in 1989, and The Wall Street Journal in 2007.
Believe it or not, by the time Rupert was 69 years old, in 2000, his News Corporation had an overall net worth of $5 billion. The firm also owned and operated more than 800 companies in more than 50 territories globally.
Forbes released their wealth rankings in 2016 and Rupert Murdoch & Family came in position 35 as the most powerful person in the world. Three years later, Murdoch and Family were ranked at position 52 in the list of billionaires. As of 2023, Rupert has a net worth of $17.3 billion.

Murdoch has married four times including his current marriage. His marriages from the earliest to the latest are as follows;

Rupert moved so fast after all his marriages came to an end. He wasn’t really giving himself some time to heal. For instance, After his first divorce from Patricia, Rupert married his second wife after three months. During that three-month period, he would often attend Mass with Ana.
In another instance, Rupert married his third wife, Wendi on June 25, 1999, only 17 days after divorcing his second wife, Ana.
This was a bit tricky because he also ended the friendship that he had with his long-time friend, Tony Blair because he suspected that Tony was having an affair with Deng while they were still married.
After his divorce from his fourth wife, Jerry was finalized in August 2022, Rupert met Ann Lesley Smith who would later become her partner. They met at an event they both attended in September 2022.
He went down on one knee and proposed to Lesley in March 2023 and the couple became engaged. Believe it or not, Rupert called off the engagement in April that same year, only two weeks after their engagement.
It is reported that Murdoch was upset with Lesley’s religious beliefs as well as her obsession with Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, whom she reportedly referred to as “A Messenger From God.”

We’ve all witnessed cases in which billionaires or even millionaires died without writing a will and the whole drama after the burial of this rich person is just frustrating. Well, it seems like this is not something new in the Murdoch family.
The circumstances surrounding the inheritance trust that holds the family’s 28.5% share in News Corporation, which was valued at around $6.1 billion in 2005, are apparently causing friction between Rupert and his oldest children.
According to the trust, his children with Wendi Deng have a portion of the stock revenues but are not given voting rights or ownership of the company. Rupert and his children from his first two marriages hold equal voting rights on one side of the stock.
His voting rights are not transferrable and will cease to be valid upon his death. This will leave the stock primarily in the hands of his children from previous marriages, albeit their half-siblings will continue to benefit from it.
He does not appear to have any solid legal grounds to challenge the current arrangement. His ex-wife Anna, and their three children have been reported to be extremely opposed to any change in that regard.

Why Did Rupert Murdoch Change His Nationality?
Rupert changed his nationality because he wanted to run one of the biggest news corporations in the United States. He gave up his Australian citizenship in 1985 and became a naturalized US citizen in order to meet the legal requirements for US television network ownership.
