She currently manages Supergiant Records, her own record company that has been dubbed “the biggest star in the galaxy.” She has credited the whirlwind of being dropped, re-signed, then dropped again from a label as well as legal issues, and conflicts with prior management for inspiring her creative work.

Her real name/birth name is Priscilla Renea Hamilton. She uses Muni Long as her stage name. Her solo debut studio album, Jukebox, was distributed by Capitol Records in 2009 under the name she was given at birth.
She achieved significant commercial success as an indie musician after changing her stage name to Muni Long with the tune “Hrs and Hrs,” which peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. As a result, she signed a record deal with Def Jam Recordings.

The Success of Hrs and Hrs
Hrs and Hrs is an R&B song about Muni’s feelings for someone. In late 2021, the song became popular on TikTok. It was her debut Billboard Hot 100 chart entry, peaking at number 16.
She wrote the song while doing the dishes one night. She entertained herself and passed the time by searching for and playing beats on YouTube.
Muni came upon an R&B track and began freestyling to it before creating the song to it. She said it took about twenty minutes. Muni and Kuk Harrell, a songwriter headed to the studio the following day to record the song. The rest as they say is history.
