Why Did Lady Jade Leave K104?
Jade returned to her hometown of Dallas three months after receiving her degree from Texas State University and started working her dream job at K104 FM.
She is accustomed to working and when she originally started at K104, she worked a nighttime on-air shift from 2 am to 5:30 am in addition to a full-time job on the promotions team.
After that, one of her radio mentors, Cat Daddy, gave her the name “Lady Jade” while she was hosting her own night show. She was approached to join the K104 Morning Show, which she has co-hosted for the past ten years, after working evenings for two years.
Lady Jade stepped down from her role at K104 and the nationwide DeDe in the Morning show in August 2022. She spent 19 years working for the station, first as Skip Murphy’s co-host on the morning show and then serving as Skip Cheatham’s lead host.
When DeDe McGuire was appointed the morning program host at K104, she had worked with DeDe for 11 consecutive years. DeDe announced Lady Jade’s departure via Instagram and K104 also reported it.
Jade, though, made another remark on Instagram. “I have kindly requested that this post be taken down because the translated story in it is not true. Unfortunately, my request has been ignored.” Jade appears to have a very specific motive for leaving the station without caution, but she hasn’t yet shared it.
Her departure from the station was announced in the original K104 post, which Lady Jade requested to be removed. She seems to have stopped using social media, but she hasn’t yet provided an explanation for her unexpected departure from K104.
